Completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education and conferred HEA Fellowship which is an international recognition of a commitment to professionalism in teaching and learning in higher education and demonstrates that ones practice is aligned with the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF).
2018 : Biography in Cloth
“Don’t Iron whilst the Strike is Hot”, exhibited as part of a group work exhibition curated by Carole Waller. This piece explored the the laundresses of Collar City New York who successfully unionised and campaigned for safer working conditions. The Collar Laundry Union is credited as being one of the first female led, unionised action which lasted longer than the strike itself.

2020-2022 : UWE ABC
between September 2020 and July 2022 I was co-chair of the University of the West of England’s Artist Book Club. During the tenure of Sarah Bradicich and I led monthly workshops demonstrations, artist talks and collaborative artifacts. During this cycle we delivered this in person and then virtually as needed during the COVID19 pandemic, using overhead cameras to demonstrate techniques and Exploring the bounds of online platforms such as TEAMS and Blackboard Collaborate.
2020 : World Book Night Exhibition
2020 : FACILITY PRINT
Social Action Print Bureau in association with Centre of Gravity Bristol supported by Craft Council funding. Betwen pandemic lockdowns and prior to development into luxury apartments the defunct Gardiner Haskins Department Store was converted into a major contemporary art showcase. As a part of the project, the 2nd floor ex-furniture department was converted into an open access print space, with access to etching presses, screen and letterpressprinting. Myself, Sarah Bradicich and Csilla Biro co-led the project for six weeks, facilitating open access to the public, hosting outreach activities, offering workshops and seminars from print professionals and acting as a bureau for local and national activists.

2021 : These Books are RUBBISH
Exploring ‘the book’ as a way of expressing creativity to create recycled publications and develop personal narratives to re-evaluate waste and add value to what would otherwise be discarded. Jo designed and lead this UWE School of Art & Design Outreach Group project in association with FutureQuest & Children’s University for students in KS1 - KS5. The project was ran virtually by schools in and around the west country, culminating in three days of physical workshops held at the Arnofini in Bristol.

2021 : Design for the FUTURE
Design is all around us, the buildings that we live and learn in and the seats we are sitting in, these often-commonplace items are the result of not only aesthetic decisions but also practical solutions for everyday problems such as the need for shelter, the urge for comfort and the desire to acquire knowledge. Jo designed and lead this UWE School of Art & Design Outreach Group project in association with FutureQuest & Children’s University for students in KS5.
